I live in very very rainy Northwestern Europe – very similar to Denmark – and the high humidity (nearly 90% everyday) does affect the hold duration of water soluble hair wax. To say that this is entirely the fault of By Vilain Silver Fox Hair Wax is unfair. Also, I still have to use hair spray to keep everything in place. I’m quite surprised such a great product came out of rainy Denmark.Ĭontrary to what others claim, By Vilain Silver Fox Hair Wax does not hold eight hours straight for me. Other products are made for finer European hair and rarely have such strong hold. That being said, By Vilain Silver Fox Hair Wax is the best hair product in Western Europe that I have seen that works for my Male Asian Hair. Without blow-drying, it would be difficult for my Male Asian Hair to be styled and even with such a strong hold, By Vilain Silver Fox Hair Wax still cannot do that for me, and I presume for other Oriental men. What I like and dislike about By Vilain Silver Fox Hair Wax I then proceeded to dry style my hair and then applied a very small fingertip amount of By Vilain Silver Fox Hair Wax. So, I figured out that the previously set up devices had to be reset/deleted, and reconfigured or set up again using the old router with same SSID and passwords on the old router and mesh guest network. ![]() What I experienced was the fact that only the newly set up devices using the newly set up network were working and online, but the rest were offline. So I made the SSID and password to be the same on the guest wifi on both old router and the mesh, then turned the old router off and the mesh back on. After turning off the mesh wifi and turning on the old router, all the devices quickly recognized that router and began working. I connected all my 2.4 ghz (both the ones I was currently using before changing to nest wifi mesh, and the ones that I plan to use later), and they all continue to work after switching back to mesh. Works perfectly and flawlessly as of June 1st, 2022. In either case, they chose 2.4 GHz wireless chips for network connectivity at the time. Some weren’t prepared for the fast uptake of mesh networks in the home, while others said the standards were still evolving. At the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show in January, I spoke with several industry contacts who make Wi-Fi smart devices and they’re well aware of the problem. I’ve experienced this problem myself on a number of devices with my Google Wi-Fi setup it’s frustrating, to say the least. Google WiFi mesh networking expands coverage and is easy to setup (Credit: Google) And in a mesh network situation, there really isn’t one to find, hence the problem. ![]() So that presents a challenge for devices using lower-cost 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi chips because they’re looking for a 2.4 GHz network to latch on to. In that scenario, you’d have two different networks in your home with today’s mesh networks, you only have one. That’s different from the “old days” where a router often had a separate network for each of these signals. Remember, mesh Wi-Fi networks combine both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies into a single network. The other piece to this puzzle is the Wi-Fi chips used in many smart home devices. This is a two-part problem directly related to the growing number of mesh Wi-Fi networks, which is what Mike is using in his home. ![]() It also turns out that this is a common problem, even though Wi-Fi smart lights, switches, doorbells and other devices are built around Wi-Fi standards, and therefore should just work on the network. It turns out that he’s having issues connecting them to his home Wi-Fi network, which is built around a Google OnHub. The most guidance you get from the start is a handwritten note, which in this remake is placed on a rock right next to a path so it is difficult to miss. Like many other fearless, classic PC games, Myst drops you into its world and leaves you on your own to advance and finish the game. There’s no hand holding whatsoever in this game, so it isn’t always immediately clear how a puzzle works or how it must be solved, the opposite of some other puzzle games like The Talos Principle. Access to these different worlds, known as Ages, is accomplished by solving puzzles. The game takes place on Myst island, a central hub. You’ll get a glimpse of these themes in Myst, and more in other material in the franchise (most of all the novels). Needless to say, The Art introduces what would be considered blasphemous concepts about creation, and can lead to people believing that they’re gods. Throughout Myst and the rest of the franchise, you will travel between unique worlds through what appear to be magical books (linking books), written in a special language in a process known as “The Art.” Details about The Art are better explored in the novels, Myst serves as your introduction to this universe, or better yet multiverse. It also spawned several novels, and even more was planned back in the day but didn’t come to fruition. Writing and Gameplayįor those who never played Myst, it is a breathtaking story driven puzzle adventure game that spawned a massive franchise including Riven, Myst 3-5, and Uru: Ages Beyond Myst. Is this the definitive edition of Myst? How does the game’s design hold up today? Let’s find out. That same year brought the first 3D remake that plays like a normal first person game we all know today, and then in 2014 it was remade again on Unity engine, combining both the original 2D style with an updated 3D style. The game was first remastered in 2000, being a higher fidelity version of the original 2D game. It was a pioneer both in technology and in game design, for both puzzle and adventure games. This is how a detailed first person environment had to be done in 1993. The original Myst used pre-rendered environments (renderings), and it is presented in such a way that makes it look like the player teleports through them. This remake also contains a randomized puzzle mode, something that is a nice benefit for those who played Myst previously. Yet this remake isn’t a VR exclusive – it was a timed Oculus exclusive (think of it as Oculus users beta testing it), but now it is available for SteamVR and also just normal PC gaming (Windows and Mac but not Linux). So why has it been remade again? The distinguishing factor for this remake is VR, which is a natural fit for all the games in the Myst series. There is a Myst for every graphics generation. It is on probably every platform you can think of, it has been remade several times before and now we have another remake. Myst was a 1993 classic and the best selling PC game until 2002. ![]() ![]() After Round 13, the hat should measure 6.5 inches wide.
